How does Perssist work?

Sign up in seconds, then send us your tasks via web, email, or phone, and we'll get started on them as soon as possible. Each request you submit is automatically routed to a specialist for that task, whether you need help with research, customer service, scheduling, travel, WordPress, lead generation, or more, we can take care of it for you. You can track the status of your requests via our online dashboard. Over time we learn more about you and your preferences to help customize your experience.


What can Perssist do for me?

We can handle anything that an intelligent and internet savvy person can do for you with a computer and an international calling plan. Things like making calls for you, scheduling, figuring out the solutions to problems you don't want to spend your time on, and other personal projects. Our assistants are located remotely, so we can't put together your Ikea furniture or organize your closet, but we can find someone to do it for you. Can you buy things for me?

Unfortunately, not at this time for security reasons. If you have a specific use case in mind though, please reach out and let us know.


Where are your assistants located? How do you vet them?

Our assistants are all over the world. You can get an idea of the type of people we hire by taking a look at some assistant profiles on our blog. We vet them through a three round interview process that includes tests, practice requests to complete, and a skype interview where we make sure they speak as well as they write, and that their accent is easy to understand.

During the hiring process we're checking for general intelligence, resourcefulness, professionalism, as well as the right type of helpful, go-out-of-our-way type of personality. We hire less than 5% of the people that start the process. If they make it that far, they go through our intensive training program to ensure quality.


Are tasks always completed all the way through by the same assistant?

The same assistant stays on your request from start to finish in order to maintain the context required to complete it. Every new request is like a little project, whether it's a 10 minute phone call or 10 hours of event planning. When you receive an email response to a request, you can simply reply to the email to contact the assistant that worked on your request. Sometimes we will transfer the request to another assistant if it's time sensitive. Every time you submit a new request, though, it could go to a different assistant, depending on the time and type of request.


Are you available in my country?

Like our assistants, we have users all over the world. As long as English is the only language needed to handle the tasks you want to throw our way, we'll be able to support you.


What times are you available?

Perssist is a 24/7 on-demand service so there will always be someone there to help you out.


How is time charged?

Time is charged in five minute increments against your time credit balance, with a minimum 10 minutes on a single request. Any time charged that goes beyond any existing time credit on your account will be billed to your account at the end of the billing period. Extra time is charged at the implied hourly rate of your plan.


How much time is my request going to take?

Whenever you submit a request, there is a check-in time associated with the request (20 mins by default). The assistant will give you a progress update with as much of the answer to your request as possible for the check-in, and you can decide whether you want the assistant to keep working on it. The purpose of the check-in is to make sure the assistant is making good progress in the right direction.

The assistant can go up to 10 minutes over the check-in time if he feels like he'll be able to get a complete answer for you instead of a partial answer. Also, requests that involve phone calls may run over the requested check-in time as hold times and getting transferred around are often unpredictable, and it would be a waste of time to end the call prematurely.


Are there any limitations I should be aware of?

We accept up to 5 new tasks per day per user. So if you submit more than that, we'll do our best to get them done, but we may need to push the extra requests off to the next day to make sure we can take care of all our users. Also, we can't do any cold-calling or sales types of calls for you, sorry!


How will Perssist represent itself when making a call or sending an email on my behalf?

We will tell the party we're calling or emailing that we're your assistant, and that we're reaching out on your behalf.


Do my unused hours roll over each month?

Of course! All of your unused time credit rolls over every month as long as your account remains active.


How can I upgrade my subscription?

Just email us at support@perssist.com to let us know. You can decide whether you want the upgrade to happen today (the full amount of the new plan will be charged and hours added to your account), or, whether you prefer to have the upgrade occur at your next subscription renewal date.


Can I share passwords with your assistants?

While some password sharing services advertise that they allow you to provide access to your accounts without revealing sensitive login information, these options aren't fully secure so we don't support secure password sharing. That being said, if you want to share login information with Perssist, we can store it in a way that an admin can reveal it to an assistant on an as-needed basis.


What third party services are you integrated with?

We're currently integrated with Google Calendar and Dropbox. Add your calendar so an assistant can see when you're free and busy, and more easily add events to your calendar. If you connect your Dropbox account, we will only have access to a folder located in Dropbox/Apps/Perssist (not all your Dropbox folders) We can add files to this folder and retrieve any files you add to it.


Do you have any kind of quality guarantee?

If you're not happy with an assistant's work, let us know and we'll redo it at no extra cost or credit you with the time for the first check-in.
